Entry requirements

Typically you need either • a bachelors degree or equivalent in a health-related subject or an equivalent professional qualification or • a degree in a health-related subject and previous or current work experience in health care, either as a clinician or manager Professional health qualifications vary across the world and the health qualifications that are acceptable will be recognised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and by the relevant professional body in the country of qualification. Professional qualifications in public sector management and administration, health economics and finance and quality management will also be acceptable. If English is not your first language you typically need an IELTS 6.0 score with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills or equivalent. If your English language skill is currently below IELTS 6.0 we recommend you consider a Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve an equivalent English score.

Course content

This course is designed to promote corporate and organisational medical leadership of health care. Medical practitioners work together to develop a shared understanding of the international wisdom and evidence of health care management and leadership practice. The course enables you to achieve an advanced level of management and leadership, knowledge and skill, which can contribute to the development of your healthcare system.
