Entry requirements

Typically you need • GCSE grade C in English, mathematics and science or equivalent* • an honours degree, 2.2 or above • evidence of at least 10 days work experience in a UK early years foundation stage setting You must • hold the GCSE requirements before applying • successfully complete QTS skills tests in numeracy and literacy as designated by the National College for Teaching and Leadership. • you must complete a declaration of criminal convictions and health check forms. If you are shortlisted, we will invite you to a selection event, and you should bring a passport or photo driving license with you. You can bring other forms of photo ID for the selection event, but if you do, you will still need to present valid identity documents required by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) at your pre-course day. Course content

Train to become a teacher in early years with Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) on a course designed for graduates who are not currently employed in an early years setting. Through a combination of taught sessions and professional placements you gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to become a successful teacher of children in the 0-5 age range.

• Prepare for roles in early years settings (0-5), including children's centres, private nurseries, infant and primary schools.
• Complete placements in two early years settings to develop your potential as a creative and reflective practitioner.
• Enhance your professional skills to plan and lead changes to practice that improve outcomes for young children.
• Develop your collaborative skills for working with parents, colleagues and staff from other sectors.
