That famous work life balance - support and flexibility is key
Whether you are carrying on with study straight from another course, or are coming back to study after a break, we know that being flexible is going to be key. We aim to support you with a learning environment that fits around your current commitments, be it work or family. We have great teams in place to help you tune or rediscover your academic skills, or support you if you need that extra helping hand.
Upskill and redefine
For us it’s all about employment and getting you work ready. If you are already on your career path and need to fine tune your skills to progress, or new into the sector and need that foot in the door, our courses offer you options.
Our staff are experts in their fields and many are still practicing. This knowledge, combined with guest speakers, industry connections to tap into, live briefs, case studies and tailored work based projects will offer you that vital work and study connection.
Our courses are accredited by various professional organisations. Many of our courses offer the opportunity to study for additional accreditation alongside your main course.
As a student at Solent, your course will give you access to the latest equipment and facilities. We are proud to say our library scored 91% for student satisfaction in the 2016 National Student Survey – ranking it ninth in the country. And if you need a break from studying to relax with your friends, we have our own on campus 3D cinema and have several coffee shops on site.
We have an active, fast-growing research community at Southampton Solent University, and our focus is on the kind of practical, applied research that meets the needs of industry and commerce.
Our dedicated Solent Learning and Teaching Institute supports students, lecturers and researchers alike, encouraging lecturers to incorporate their research into everyday teaching and creating embedded research experiences for learners.
