This unique programme offers you the opportunity to train as a teacher in England while studying for your Master's degree. This degree is designed to support the academic and professional development of international students who wish to study in London, develop as teachers and enhance their career prospects in England and in their home country. The focus on Mathematics or Physics reflects the national shortage of teachers in these areas and offers students the opportunity to contribute to teacher development and policy in schools and institutions internationally.
Our mission is to encourage, empower and support students to give, learn and belong to the St Mary's learning community. Our students are motivated to fulfil their potential, think critically and become global citizens through excellent, research-enriched teaching in a strong community of mutual respect, generosity of spirit and inclusiveness.
Building on our long tradition of excellent practice in teacher education, St Mary's provides a unique opportunity for international students through this professional Master’s degree. We are renowned for our caring student-centred approach: in 2016 we are ranked first in London for Student Satisfaction. We are ranked 'Outstanding' by Ofsted for Initial Teacher Training in both Primary and Secondary sectors.
The programme offers two distinctive pathways: Mathematics and Physics with opportunities to develop skills in teaching Mandarin.
