Entry requirements

Normal requirements are at least a 2:2 honours degree or equivalent in a related engineering or technology discipline.

If you don’t meet the above but have significant appropriate experience, your application will be considered if you satisfy the University that you can respond to the challenge of postgraduate work. 

If your first language is not English, you will need to demonstrate that you are fluent enough to cope with the course. A minimum score of IELTS 6 or TOEFL 550 (213 computer-based) is normally required.

Our modern workshop facilities include specialist mechanical and thermodynamic laboratory support, a design studio with over 70 workstations, manufacturing facilities including CNC machining, rapid prototyping systems and a fully equipped test laboratory. You’ll also have the opportunity to use a wide range of software tools for design and simulation.
