This programme is taught at the University campus located in Stoke. The award is delivered through a blended learning approach with one weekend of study per module.
The award is designed for recently graduated students in Early Childhood Studies; Education; Social Studies; Teacher training; Health studies and other related and relevant studies at the appropriate level. This often includes staff in employment (e.g. Early years practitioners; college lecturers, local authorities, Early Years Professionals) wishing to upgrade their qualifications.
Individuals with voluntary or other experience relevant to the sector wishing to change direction or gain a qualification to advance their career may find this award beneficial.
You will encounter a wide range of learning experiences, including lectures, individual tutorials, group tutorials, seminars, workshops, problem-based learning, and independent study. Each module commences with a study weekend typically starting on a Friday evening with a full day of study on the Saturday and Sunday morning classes. The sessions will be highly interactive, combining short sequences of lecture input with small group discussion opportunities for networking and sharing good practice. The small group sessions may be based on set readings which could be made available to you prior to the weekend sessions. We value the knowledge that you have already gained through your prior experience and you are encouraged to contribute your ideas and experiences in taught sessions.
The award is designed to allow for your research interests to be fully explored and each module can focus on an area of particular professional interest.
