Course content

Whilst legal knowledge and skills are essential it is increasingly apparent that successful lawyers need to be competent business managers. The course is aimed at students either intending to enter legal practice or already in practice.

Students can choose from a wide range of modules either in legal subject specialisms or issues of legal practice management and development. Students are then required to complete a dissertation on a topic related to legal practice or legal practice management. The course is designed to aid career progression in private practice, partnerships, the public sector, commerce/industry or services ancillary to legal practice.

The course provides you with a unique and invaluable insight into the current business and regulatory issues that are faced by legal practices in the UK and overseas. The lecture programme is delivered by leading legal practitioners who speak directly of their professional experiences on such issues as Client Retention; The Drive for Quality; New Directions in Training Working With Others.
