Entry requirements

Applicants for both PhD and MPhil should normally have a UK honours degree (2.1), a Master's degree, or a NARIC approved equivalent in a related subject.

Course content

We offer both PhD and MPhil opportunities in these areas. A list of pre-defined topics can be found here:, or applicants can submit their own topic. Applicants are encouraged to discuss their proposals with individual researchers prior to submitting an application, although this is not a requirement of the application process.

Information for international students

International students should have IELTS average of 6.5 from a UKVI approved test centre. Further details about requirements for international admissions, can be discussed with our Research Administrator;
