Entry requirements

Successful applicants are expected to have an Honours degree (normally 2:2 or better) in Sports Therapy, Health and Exercise Sciences, Physiotherapy or equivalent and to have current working experience (2 years) in a related field. An enhanced disclosure of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is required for this course.

Course content

The MSc Applied Sports Rehabilitation is a three year part-time programme which contains some blended learning, ‘onsite’ contact time at Teesside in the first year only, followed by the second and third years being delivered and supported online via the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) with personal tutorial, module leader and peer support networks.

The qualification provides flexibility to rehabilitation professionals who wish to undertake a programme with highly specialised content that focuses on advanced skills of sports therapy and rehabilitation, and is designed to facilitate and develop experiential learning and evidence based practice.

The programme is flexible enough to fit within your personal and professional interests while developing your evidence based understanding of rehabilitation at masters level.

You explore how this applies to your own and other professions whilst gaining CPD skills and maintaining your individual professional practice. As a programme team we will be utilising a range of online activities with tutorial and peer support throughout the programme. You do not need to have experience of these skills before you start the programme as you will be introduced to them through our induction and modules in year 1. The programme will enable you to gain valuable experience in using webinar, wiki and discussion groups online as well as developing e presentations which is a growing technical world will be transferable to your individual practice setting and professional networks.
