Entry requirements

UK 2:1 (or overseas equivalent) in economics/econometrics/agricultural economics or a related subject for direct MSc entry. Applicants with a UK 2:2 (or overseas equivalent) in economics/econometrics/agricultural economics or a related subject may be considered for entry onto the MA Economics or Postgraduate Diploma Economics.

Course content

This programme aims to provide balanced and rigorous training in modern theories in economics and econometrics at the postgraduate level. Although similar to the MSc in Economics, its differs in the level of econometric course units its provides, as well as extending the coverage in macroeconomic and microeconomic theory by providing a course unit in mathematical economics. On completion students should be able to understand and apply the basic principles behind the theory of econometrics as well as apply these techniques to real data using packages such as Stata and PC Give and employ more advanced computational tools using Gauss.

Information for international students

Students whose first language is not English require TOEFL 623 (TWE 5) paper based or 263 computer based (TWE 5). Internet based score of 100 with 25 in each element. IELTS 7 with 7 in writing.
