Entry requirements
Applicants to the programme must have obtained, or be about to obtain, a First or Upper Second class UK honours degree, or the equivalent qualifications gained outside the UK, in an appropriate area of science, engineering or technology. As competition is fierce, many of our applicants also hold a Masters-level qualification.

Course content
The University of Manchester, UK and A*STAR Institutes, Singapore offer a number of prestigious international PhD studentships for outstanding applicants each year, commencing in September.
The four-year PhD programme will require successful applicants to split their time between Manchester and the relevant research institute in Singapore. The programme will involve two-year periods in both Manchester and Singapore. The final PhD degree awarded will be by The University of Manchester.
