Course content

The Masters of Arts in Teaching and Learning (MATL) is designed for in-service teachers working in any subject and any phase. The programme is focused on supporting teachers in developing their practice. In doing so it impacts on the learning of the pupils; aids the development of outstanding expertise in teaching; and provides learning and skill development in areas which are required for promotion.

The MATL is delivered via distance learning in a Virtual Learning Environment through which students receive written, audio and video information, reading lists and access to literature and discussion with tutors and other students. This mode of delivery gives more flexibility in where and when to study. Students are supported by a team of experienced educationalists and assigned a personal tutor.
