Course content

Our Project Management course is an industry-led, distance learning programme that uses a Practice Based Learning approach to project management development. Therefore, this Project Management programme differs from others in that, rather than simple acquiring new knowledge and ideas, delegates are expected to adopt a reflective practice approach to apply their learning directly to their projects in the workplace. It acts as a Community of Practice for delegates to network and communicate with their peers so that they can share experiences and practices across a wide range of organisations and project environments.

  • To provide complex education in the management of projects including preparing you to take on a more senior role
  • Teaching you functional project management topics
  • To update individual's and organisation's competence
  • To support your professional career development
  • To help develop essential behavioural skills such as communication and problem-solving

Project Management is the application of processes, knowledge, skills and your own experience to achieve objectives of a project. Whereas management is an on-going process, project management has a final deliverable (based on objectives) and a set time-span.

Our course promotes a reflection on the latest industry and academic thinking and supports a leadership level of understanding required for managing ever larger and more complex projects in the 21st century.

This programme aligns with APM Competency Level 4 - Proficient.
