Course content

This programme provides a new approach to classroom management in the Mixed Ability setting. It provides teaching methodologies that allow all students from the exceptionally able to pupils with special educational needs – to learn at a level suited to their needs and abilities.

It enhances teaching and learning in the classroom, reduces stress, increases enjoyment, motivation, achievement and attendance.

· Components Include:

· Introduction to Cooperative Learning

· Implementation of CL in Classroom

· Use of Technology in a Cooperative Learning Environment

· Implementing a Peer Mediation Programme

Teachers working in Primary and Post-Primary Education, and others with a professional interest in education are encouraged to apply. This course may be offered in regional Education Centres. The course has a taught component and a dissertation. The duration will normally be two years part-time or one year full time.
