These include EDF, HSBC, Ofgem, International Energy Agency, Arup, Atkins, Burrohappold, The National Trust, English Heritage, the Office of Public Works in Ireland, Historic England, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

“The MSc Environmental Design and Engineering supports students to move onto a variety of career paths backed by sound technical knowledge. In my case, it was a crucial career moment, which enabled my transition from architecture into environmental design and engineering."
Ricardo Moreira, Environmental Design and Engineering MSc Alumni, Managing Director at XCO2

"UCL’s Sustainable Heritage MSc was the first step on the route to a new career for me, after 17 years in finance. I’d long had an interest in old buildings, so it was a real boon, in amongst all the other projects and topics, to find myself studying environmental management strategies for historic houses with the person responsible for this area at the National Trust. He then agreed to mentor my dissertation, which centred on conservation heating at three National Trust properties, and from there I never really looked back.

"The dissertation opened the way for volunteering opportunities with the National Trust’s preventive conservation team, who have just taken me on as part of a two-year internship, under the joint supervision of ICON. If you’re interested in pursuing or furthering a career in heritage, whatever the field, UCL’s Sustainable Heritage MSc will provide you with the contacts and experience to get you on your way."
Hilary Jarvis, Sustainable Heritage MSc Alumni, Assistant Preventive Conservator, National Trust

Student views

"As an international student studying at UCL, I have had the chance to experience a different style of education… students are engaged in strategic learning processes where they are allowed more space to explore the learning materials at hand themselves, trying different approaches to specific problems that suit them best."
Dean Gehusi, Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment MSc Alumni

“Located in central London, The Bartlett offers a unique opportunity of personal and career development. The quality of teaching in the MSc is excellent, not only because of the world-leading academics, but also because of the well-known professionals from the industry often contributing to the course modules. In this multi-disciplinary environment, I realised by passion for research in building-related health issues.”
Lia Chatzidiakou, Environmental Design and Engineering MSc and PhD Alumni
