Course content

The aim of the MSc is to generate an integrated perspective of all those components that constitute systemic, sustainable, and successful healthcare facilities. These components include: a strong emphasis on the value of real estate and place-making; an understanding of all elements necessary to enable significant environments for healthcare; a holistic perspective on Healthcare Facilities as a social provision.

Our Healthcare Facilities MSc is the only multidisciplinary programme of its type available in the UK and abroad. Health is the largest sector of the global economy, replacing agriculture for the first time in history. The role of healthcare premises is more significant than ever. This programme offers a rare opportunity to be involved in that massive sector and have expertise in one of its most critical components: the built environment.

This programme will provide you with the opportunity to visit healthcare facilities, learn from experts, and interact alongside other experienced students to gain insights into the planning, designing, delivery and managing of healthcare facilities. You will have the opportunity to build a unique network as you learn amongst your international peers and tutors in UCL, London’s Global University.

This programme combines generally applicable modules on buildings and real estate with modules specifically focused on the area of healthcare provision. The result is a unique programme that is multidisciplinary in its professional relevance, covering many stages of decision making and stakeholder relevance for healthcare facilities.
