Entry requirements

Applicants should normally be a medical graduate with a primary medical qualification that has been listed on the World Directory of Medical Schools; and a minimum two years of training in General Surgery, Plastic Surgery or Dermatological surgery or hold an undergraduate BDS qualification in dentistry or an Advanced Nurse practitioner qualification and be registered with NMC or be a Prescribing pharmacist registered with GPhc.

If your education has not been conducted in the English language, you will be expected to demonstrate evidence of an adequate level of English proficiency.

This programme provides clinicians with a rigorous education in clinical skills, contemporary best practice, and evidence-based principles in aesthetics to ensure an optimal outcome for the patient and practitioner. You will learn from world leaders in aesthetic surgery and minimally invasive aesthetics and join the community of professionals driving innovation in the field.

The programme  makes use of internationally recognised motivated and experienced clinical trainers and academics  to deliver a programme that will translate to excellent, individualised academic surgical practice, with research in the areas of minimally invasive facial aesthetics, aesthetic surgery and regenerative medicine.

Assessment

You will be taught through lectures, expert forum, cadaver based procedural training, watch pre-recorded operative procedures linked with formative assessments, and also attend select sessions on campus. PLEASE NOTE: in 2021/22 the face to face teaching sessions will also be offered online for those who would prefer.

The compulsory face to face teaching/skills training dates are: 29 and 30 October 2021. 21, 22, 23 January 2022. 11, 12, 13 March 2022. 22 May 2022.

A variety of formative and summative assessment strategies are utilised to ensure that students are able to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge and skills with relevant contextual understanding and which include, scenario based online quiz and course work, e-poster presentation, Objective Structured Clinical and Practical Examination (OSCPE) and Critical reflective case study.
