Course content

This programme offers the first part of a two-way conversion route-way to psychology for applicants who have not completed a BPS accredited undergraduate degree in a psychology discipline. The Graduate Certificate, plus the Child Development MSc, or Psychology of Education MSc at the IOE, is the dual-package conversion that enables students to apply for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

The programme includes weekly seminar activities to promote discussion and networking between students, who come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds.

Graduates of this programme often progress to a relevant BPS-accredited Master's programme - Psychology of Education MSc or Child Development MSc - to complete their conversion to psychology and to be eligible to apply for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS). The Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) is a necessary requirement for a career as a clinical or educational psychologist.
