Candidates must have obtained at least a second class honours degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline (i.e. Science or Engineering).
All candidates must ultimately be approved by the director of the MSc in Applied Science (Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing) programme. In the case of competition for places selection will be made on the basis of primary degree results and/or interview.
Months of entry
The primary aim is to educate participants to MSc level in the theoretical and practical aspects of mathematical problem solving, mathematical model development, creating software solutions and communication of results.
Fees and funding
This programme receives funding from the Government under a major initiative to meet IT skills needs identified by the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs, therefore EU Students admitted to this programme in 2009/2010 will pay a reduced annual tuition fee of 2,000 euros.
