Entry requirements

This Higher Diploma is open to candidates who hold a degree or its equivalent, in any discipline, but preference will be given to those with a computer literate mathematical background.

Course content

The main aim of the course is to foster the skills required to develop scientific applications deployed on Windows and other platforms and the WEB. The whole emphasis is on practical, hands-on experience. To this end full-time students have unlimited access to a state-of-the-art lab complete with high speed computer, server and printer facilities and part-time students are furnished with a high spec laptop fully loaded with all required software. Lectures are presented with live demonstrations and exams are practical and done by computer.

Fees and funding

This programme receives funding from the Government under a major initiative to meet IT skills needs identified by the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs, therefore EU Students admitted to this programme in 2009/2010 will pay a reduced annual tuition fee of 2,000 euros.
