Entry requirements

BCL (Hons) of NUI with second class Honours. In exceptional cases, holders of BCL (Hons) Degree from UCC with third class Honours may be regarded as eligible for the LLB Degree if, in the opinion of the Faculty of Law, the candidate's performance in the entire programme of studies leading to the BCL (Hons) Degree was such as to qualify them to undertake the prescribed programme of study for the LLB; or have such other third level educational qualifications and/or professional experience in Law as, in the opinion of the Faculty of Law, qualifies the candidate to undertake the programme.

Course content

This postgraduate law degree offers students the opportunity to expand their portfolio of legal knowledge across a wider area of law in preparation for legal practice or for further study. It offers a wide choice of courses so that students can create a combination that best suits their interests. The degree requires the student to complete a Legal Research and Methodology Module plus four 10 credit modules chosen from the range on offer and to complete an essay of 8,000 words in length.
