Entry requirements

Applicants should normally fulfil the following criteria: - Primary degree or equivalent in psychology, social work, medicine or other relevant subject; or other degree with teaching or basic counselling qualification; or a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Nursing or Social Work); - Experience of working in the mental health area; - Personal therapy: probably at least one year of individual therapy and some experience of group work; - Satisfy a selection committee

This one year diploma course has been set up to meet the needs for a basic broad-based training in psychotherapeutic thinking.The course presents important psychodynamic and humanistic ideas through a humanistic and experience-based teaching style.The course has been made possible by the support of The Penelope Lady Balogh Psychotherapy Trust of London, which supports the course financially and through its expertise.
