Course content

The MA in Translation Studies is a one-year programme which will offer candidates training in the skills of the translation professions: translating documents, interpreting and terminology. The course will include analysis, documentation, revision skills for document translation; traductology theory and practice; socio-history of professional translation; terminology; introduction-level note-taking for consecutive interpreting; introduction-level simultaneous interpreting. Candidates will undertake supervised contact with potential employers and professional work experience The dissertation will involve research on an aspect of translation.
