Entrants must be Registered General Nurses and must have a minimum of two years' post registration experience (excluding courses), and at least six months' experience in the speciality pathway applied for. Applications are made online at: http:/www.pac.ie

Course content

The course consists of 250 hours theory and thirty-five weeks clinical placement.
Students take core modules to the value of 30 credits:
NU5036 Nursing Science (5 credits); NU5037 Research Methods (5 credits); NU5038 Teaching and Learning for Practice (5 credits); NU5041 Critical Care - Fundamental Principles (10 credits); NU5044 Ethics for Specialist Practice (5 credits).
And 30 credits in their chosen Pathway.
NU5005 Cardiac and Intensive Care Nursing I (10 credits); NU5006 Cardiac and Intensive Care Nursing II (10 credits); NU6045 Clinical Practicum in Cardiac and Intensive Care Nursing (10 credits).
