Course content

The MRes Crafts course focuses on the written histories and critical analyses of craft organisations, artists, theories and craft exhibitions, as well as discussions from management, educational and theoretical perspectives. The key outcomes of the course are a substantial essay or an essay plus practice outcome in the case of makers.

The use of museum and private collections (including artist collections) as a focus for study will be a strong feature of MRes Crafts and you will have access to the Crafts Study Centre which is housed at the Farnham campus.

Subject to the course's validation your MRes project could be equivalent to the first year's study for a MPhil or PhD in Crafts areas.

Visit the MRes Crafts page on the University for the Creative Art's website for more details.
