Course content


If you are keen to re-establish Gaelic either in Scotland or from overseas this programme gives you a strong grounding in historical contexts,and cultural and creative immersion in Gaelic. The programme is run in partnership with Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Isle of Skye and is fully funded by the Scottish Government. It covers a range of theoretical, historical and policy perspectives relating to immersion and bilingual teaching of Gaelic education. You learn the principles of how to teach Gaelic in the classroom.

Courses include: Professional Language Development with Theoretical Principles - Confident use of Gaelic in the Classroom and Professoinal Language Development with Principles and Theory - Gaelic Medium Practice

Careers with Gaelic Medium Education degree can be within teaching from primary to college level. You may also get involved in community enterprise, development and heritage tourism especially within Gaelic speaking areas of the world.
