This programme gives you all expertise required to decommission oil rigs and energy related facilities and structures after use. It covers engineering project management, health and safety, environmental management and all challenges associated with decommissioning this type of facility. You study at the heart of the world oil and gas industry in Aberdeen City. From here you learn directly from the industry via research collaborations in the city and via experts at the University. The programme is very vocational and gives you the full spectrum of knowledge enriched by industry and research collaboration since the 1970s. You learn about offshore and subsea structures, well plugging and abandonment, project evaluation, regulation, marine EIAs, process shut downs and disposal and more.
