Summary

The Sonic Arts programme is ideal of you want to be employed in creative industries, film and multimedia, games and programming, broadcasting, theatre, education and other areas of music.

MMus Sonic Arts gives you a range of special effects in the music genre such as acoustics, electronic noise, imitation, and media to allow you to build a strong portfolio towards your career. Students come from a range of arts backgrounds.

Courses include: Composing with Sound, Electroacoustic Composition: the Voice and the Marchine, Sound Design for New Media and your Research Project in Sonic Arts. Optional Courses include: Music Research Seminar, Introduction to Visual Culture and Theory, Introduction to Film Theory and Analysis, Art and Business, The Museum, Northern Worlds, Words and Music, Contemporary European Opera, Locations and Dislocations: the Role of Place in Literature, Curating an Exhibition, Developing A Theory of Practice: Learning and Museums, Northern Peoples and Cultures, Roads: Mobility Movement Migration, Cultural Property Issues: Art and Museums, Oral Traditions
