Summary

This internationally recognised qualification allows you to teach English globally. The M.Litt in TESOL is a full time or part-time course for aspiring professionals who wish to develop their knowledge of and skills in teaching English as a second or foreign language with a view to pursuing a career in the field.

The curriculum covers the latest theory and practice in TESOL and aims to equip students with a critical appreciation of the structure and function of English as a world language, as well as arm them with the skills necessary to conduct their own research into the structure, function and acquisition of English. We look at Content and Language Integrated Learning and Computer Mediated Communication, Young Learners, Discourse and Analysis and English for Specific Purposes.

Courses include: TESOL Methodology: Teaching English as a Second or Other Language, Research Methods in TESOL, TESOL Methodology, Peer Teaching, Individual Differences in Second Language Acquisition, Advanced English Structure and Use, Varieties of English and your TESOL focused Teaching Portfolio.
