Summary

Translators are increasingly required in a global world to support business, charities and other organisaitons and governments with their transactions and discussions. Translation Studies gives you even more knowledge and skills within a language setting to encourage you into exciting international careers. We offer Arabic, French, Gaelic, German, Irish, Mandarin, Spanish and Welsh with opportunity to pair languages if you want to. You apply your language skills to business, legal, medical issues at professional level.

Courses include: Language - Specific Translation Portfolio, Intercultural Communication, Additional Language - Specific Translation Portfolio, Literary Translation, Translation Technology, and Professional Skills for Translators.

You can gain a different array of translation work across all channels. Internationally you can work for business, public sector, charities and other organisations and you can edit and proof the written word in text and on screen for example. You can also provide your own consultancy services and work freelance.
