Course content

The MSc In Latin American Studies is the only taught Masters programme in Latin American Studies in Scotland and one of the very few in the UK to cover both Latin American politics and Latin American culture. The interdisciplinary nature of this programme will allow traditional and contemporary methodological approaches to the study of Latin America to be used. As a result, debates about the nature of international institutions, development/post-development, global political economy, culture and identity, citizenship and rights, history, and traditional and human security will take place. This will further an understanding on the interdisciplinary nature of the contemporary study of Latin American Studies.
