- 1st or 2:1 Honours degree (or equivalent) in Psychology or the international equivalent;
- IELTS 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in each of the four components);
- Two references are required (one of these must be an academic reference);
- a personal statement that provides evidence of how your academic, professional and personal experiences equip you meet the demands of the course.
If successful you will also be asked to attend an interview.
Months of entry
The MSc Applied Clinical Psychology (subject to University approval) is a one year full-time course that will provide you with the background knowledge and professional skills to enable you to progress into a career in psychology. You will be equipped with up-to-date knowledge of theory and practice issues relevant to UK and international health care settings.
The course will develop your understanding of cognitive behaviour therapy. You will be trained to identify and deploy appropriate assessment strategies in clinical settings, to reflect upon new technology and innovation within social sciences and to make decisions regarding legitimacy, reliability and effectiveness.
You will develop the knowledge of the governance, ethical and organisational issues of working in a mental health context and become efficient in using information technology and computing technology.
