Entry requirements

A First or 2:1 Honours degree, or equivalent, in an appropriate subject, for example European studies, politics, history, economics and sociology. Students are expected to be fluent or near-fluent in English. Applicants for sites other than Bath and those which work in English must demonstrate clear evidence of ability to work academically at the appropriate level in that language. The Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies in considering applications, will take the following into account: Extended and responsible experience in a relevant field together with authorship of papers or other work of an acceptable academic standard, e.g. published translation.

Programme Structure:
After the initial Core Module in Bath, you will undertake two taught semesters, followed by the completion of a 15,000 word dissertation, to be submitted by September in the second year. You must study at a minimum of two sites, including Bath, but may also choose to study at a third site.

Information for international students

IELTS 6.5 (with not less than 6.0 in each of the four components); TOEFL 92 (internet-based test) with not less than 21 in Writing, 21 in Listening, 22 in Reading, 23 in Speaking.
