Course content
We offer an opportunity to gain a research degree while working in one of the UK's many games, visual effects, animation or other digital media companies, as well as companies which require digital technology expertise such as defence and health.
The programme leads to an Engineering Doctorate, equivalent to a PhD but with lots of practical experience and industry know-how. You will spend one year training and then three years in the research arm of a company.
The EngD in Digital Entertainment is run by the national Centre for Digital Entertainment (CDE), a collaboration between the University of Bath and Bournemouth University. It creates innovative funded research and development projects for high-tech industries.
At the CDE we embed doctoral researchers into companies to work on R&D projects to support the growth of the UK economy.
