Course content

You will study three core modules on archaeological theory and interpretation, landscape archaeology and field survey. In addition, you will choose three optional modules which can include training in spatial analysis, GIS, geophysical survey and visualisation. You can also choose from a wider range of options, which includes subjects as diverse as submerged landscapes, funerary archaeology, ancient cities and landscapes of conflict, and cultural studies ranging from European prehistory to Classical and Byzantine archaeology.

Research training is provided for all postgraduate students, and MA students put this into practice by researching a topic of your own choice for a supervised 15,000-word dissertation.
