Entry requirements
There are multiple intakes in a year. Students can join the programme in February, July, and October.
For entry to the online MBA with Engineering Leadership, you must have obtained (or be predicted to obtain) an upper second-class degree from a UK university OR an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution. Given the nature of this programme, applicants should have five years of professional management experience and at least three years in cases of exceptional potential in an engineering setting.
We welcome applicants with an appetite for learning. Since this programme combines modules from multiple disciplines, expect to cover mathematics, starting at the secondary schooling level and above.
If you do not meet standard entry criteria, we may accept applications with a lower degree and significant work experience. Please contact us to find out more.

The online MBA with Engineering Leadership is a 180-credit programme which includes 13 modules and a 40-credit project or research dissertation to help you develop the expertise you need to pursue senior engineering management and leadership positions. Study as part of a diverse, global coalition of students with opportunities to expand your professional network during group assignments, lecture sessions, roundtable discussions and optional residencies.

If you’re unable to commit to the full MBA qualification, there are alternative qualification routes. You can exit with one of the following credentials:
· Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip): 120 credits
· Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert): 60 credits
Programme Outcomes:
- Practice purposeful and inclusive leadership in an engineering setting.
- Identify risks, challenges and lines of consequence within complex systems and services.
- Critically evaluate the performance of a system safety assessment.
- Use consistent and clear terminology in communications about safety engineering to peers and senior colleagues, translating between the vocabularies of different domain.
- Make informed judgements on complex ethical issues not addressed in current practice.
- Conceptualise opportunities and challenges for AI and Data Analytics in relation to strategic leadership in own areas of activity.
- Formulate and analyse a complex problem to reach a conclusion substantiated by a deep understanding.
- Communicate a plan of action to an audience with mixed backgrounds e.g. priorities, expertise.
- Develop original and creative responses to problems and issues related to sustainability.
Strategic events such as job search workshops, career development sessions, and networking opportunities with employers and alumni are designed to further advance your career. In addition to being invited to online industry guest lectures, you will have the opportunity to visit campus for workshops like our annual Deloitte Consultancy Challenge and MBA Symposium.
Information for international students
If English is not your first language, you will need to supply an up-to-date English language certificate. We accept Academic IELTS certificates with a score of 6.5 and no less than 6.0 in any band. Alternative test certificates are also accepted, and exemptions can be made.
Fees and funding
The estimated total cost of this programme is £26,250. You can pay in full or in instalments of £1,875 on a module-by-module basis. All costs are listed, to help you make an informed decision. Programme fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change each academic year.
We are excited to be offering a 10% early bird discount from the first module for the February 2025 intake to those who have accepted an unconditional offer and are registered on the programme by 31st January 2025.
