The University of Bolton's one year postgraduate certificate in Teaching and Learning for Professional Practice is designed to fulfil your professional development needs if your role involves teaching and supporting learning and assessment.

In addition to meeting the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and supporting learning in higher education, this course will help you to attain professional recognition for your work and to meet your organisation's goals.

The learning outcomes for this course may also contribute towards, or indeed fulfill, any relevant professional standards associated with your occupation. For instance, successful completion of the first module of this course will allow you to demonstrate your achievement of the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching in higher education, as well as achievement of the relevant Nursing and Midwifery Council standards.

By studying on this course you will learn the processes and methods for establishing effective teaching and learning strategies and principles for the implementation of assessment procedures. You will also learn methods for curriculum development, the development of approaches to learning that are student-centred and innovative, the importance of ethics in all aspects of teaching professional practice and the role of audits and evaluation in learning programmes.
