Course content

The MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy builds on the Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) and focuses on training in research methods and design. This culminates in the completion, under supervision, of a dissertation based on independent research.

Teaching is delivered using a variety of methods including lectures, seminars, skills training and practice. You will be assessed on the basis of practical reports, seminar presentations, essays, a research proposal and a dissertation.

Teaching staff on this course hold postgraduate qualifications in research and have experience of publishing in refereed journals. Teaching groups are small and academic supervision is one-to-one, ensuring there is close contact between tutor and student.

The Department of Psychology at the University of Bolton was one of the first to establish a degree course in the subject of psychology and has a wealth of experience in teaching and research in the subject.
