The School of Health and Social Sciences welcomes expressions of interest in postgraduate research degrees in the field of leisure and sport.

Research degree supervision is available in a number of areas within the social sciences and humanities. These include leisure and sport history; leisure, lifestyle and wellbeing; leisure, sport and physical activity policy; and community regeneration.

With the construction of a health and wellbeing centre on the University campus, the school is particularly keen to receive proposals that explore the relationships between leisure, lifestyle and wellbeing.

The School of Health and Social Sciences has a strong track record in research and consultancy in the areas of leisure policy and the role of leisure and physical activity in community regeneration.
