Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a BSc/BA Honours Psychology degree at class 2:1 or higher, and a Masters degree or equivalent postgraduate experience. The English Language requirement for international students is an IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent from an accredited centre. Entry is dependent on the availability of a member of staff with expertise in the area chosen.

Course content

The PhD Psychology course is aimed at psychology graduates with a masters degree or equivalent postgraduate experience, who are seeking to develop their knowledge and produce research in a specific area of psychology to a high level of academic achievement.

If you are a psychology graduate with less experience you can enrol for the PhD via MPhil route.

Applications are considered in the following areas: Decision research and economic psychology; Computer-related and internet psychology; Cognitive and neuropsychology; Theoretical and critical psychology; Applied psychology; Developmental psychology (These may vary, see website)
