Entry requirements

First degree, not necessarily in business and management, from an approved university, or an acceptable professional qualification. Usual entry requirement is equivalent to a UK degree minimum 2:2 (Honours). Candidates whose first language is not English will normally have to have passed an approved test in English before admission. We require an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (with minimum 5.5 in each section), or alternatively, 96 in the Internet-Based TOEFL test.

This degree programme, new for 2012, will appeal to students from a range of backgrounds seeking to develop the specialist knowledge and skills in international marketing that would enable them to pursue appropriate careers in domestic or international marketing. The programme is suitable for students with or without prior experience of business, marketing or management subject areas. As such, this MSc is designed for those who want to specialize in marketing in order to change career direction, get started in a specific career or boost an existing career. The programme is aimed at both recent graduates and those with a first degree and work experience. The programme delivers many opportunities to gain practical skills in marketing and international marketing through the use of module assignments, case studies, marketing strategy simulation, industry speakers and consulting projects.

The programme, in addition to including a broad range of core marketing modules (marketing strategy, consumer behaviour, marketing research, marketing communications), also includes a number of internationally orientated modules (international marketing, international business environment, international business strategy , cross cultural management).

The programme has been designed specifically to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to pursue a career in an international (or domestic) marketing setting, whether that means working with a large multi-national, a smaller company or even your own business. The programme specifically allows graduates to pursue international or domestic careers in a number of areas including market research, advertising and communications, consultancy, services marketing or general marketing.
