We operate a flexible admissions policy – this means that you could receive a lower conditional offer than the typical offer, informed by our assessment of your complementary non-academic achievements and experiences. For courses that require interview or portfolio review, this may also be considered in the level of any conditional offer that follows if your application is successful.
Degree and experience
Entry on to Year 1
For entry to PGDip year 1, applicants require a degree or equivalent qualifications as are accepted by the CIPD.Applicants are expected to have experience of working in HR. Exceptionally, candidates without HR
experience looking to enter the profession may be accepted provided they hold a degree.
Entry on to year 2
Direct entry to PGDip Year 2 is possible for candidates with equivalent qualifications to the first year of the PGDip. Normally these will be the CIPD core modules.

Months of entry
Our part-time Human Resource Management postgraduate diploma prepares you for a senior role in HR, developing your understanding of HR and the organisations within which HR operates.
Using critical analysis, self-reflection and problem-solving techniques, you will learn how to develop and implement creative and strategic HR solutions that drive organisational performance, applying your learning to your workplace with immediate effect.
Experienced lecturers will support you through this academic and practice-led course, integrating guest talks from local, national and international HR professionals.
You can also tailor the course to your individual and professional strengths through your final project – focusing on an area you or your current employer is interested in.
As part of our Human Resource Management programme, you will have the opportunity to continue onto the Human Resource Management MSc. This course is also accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
The course is taught one day per week (afternoon and evening combined) over two years. However, if your circumstances change you can exit with a postgraduate certificate after one year.
On successful completion of this diploma-level course, you may apply to become a CIPD Chartered Member. This signals your professional credibility to employers, clients and peers.
Guest speakers provide an opportunity to meet and network with successful HR professionals. These informal talks address contemporary issues, providing theoretical and practical insights.

For non-native speakers of English
In order to benefit from, contribute to and enjoy the course, a good command of spoken and written English language is required. If English is not your first language, you will need English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5, with 6.0 in the written test and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.
