Entry requirements

The entry requirements listed here are our typical offer for this course if you wish to begin studying with us in 2018. They should be used as a general guide.

We operate a flexible admissions policy – this means that you could receive a lower conditional offer than the typical offer, informed by our assessment of your complementary non-academic achievements and experiences. For courses that require interview or portfolio review, this may also be considered in the level of any conditional offer that follows if your application is successful.

Degree and/or experience
The standard entry qualifications are a degree or professional qualification equivalent to a degree, plus at least three years' professional work experience. Applications will also be considered from managers with at least five years' experience who do not hold a degree or equivalent qualification.

Course content

This course combines two of the most exciting areas of management and leadership. It provides you with the knowledge and skills necessary for leading the practice of change and harnessing innovation.

Key to the course's philosophy is the connection between change and innovation and a focus on futures-oriented processes.

The course is designed to fit around your personal and professional commitments. It is taught in seven teaching blocks and you can choose to spread the course over a few years or complete it quickly in less than two years. Courses start in September, January and April.

Each three-day block is assessed through an organisation-based project which will contribute to your employer's business. The projects will ensure that you are using best practice in your work. Your employer will benefit from your ability to maximise organisational success during periods of change, as well as your capacity to effectively communicate the changes to staff.

All of the classroom teaching is workshop-based which promotes group discussion and the sharing of experience. Each of the modules incorporate real-life case studies.

Managing Change and Innovation MSc will enable you to become an authoritative practitioner and leader of change and innovation practice. Likely roles include change management consultant, programme manager, project leader or entrepreneur.

For non-native speakers of English
In order to benefit from, contribute to and enjoy the course, a good command of spoken and written English language is required. If English is not your first language, you will need English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5, with 6.0 in the written test and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.
