Degree and/or experience
Normally a good honours degree or equivalent is required. Work experience is useful but not essential. Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications will be considered. If you are unsure whether you meet the entry requirements then please contact us.

Course content

Designed for those seeking to develop their knowledge of digital marketing and e-commerce at an advanced level, our CIM-accredited Marketing (Digital Marketing) MSc prepares you for a career in marketing, advertising or social media.

On the course, you will learn both theory and practice of marketing at an advanced level, providing you with an in-depth, critical understanding of research methodologies, and marketing communications planning and strategy.

You will gain practical experience from live projects, critically analysing and developing digital marketing campaigns for real clients. This commercial marketing experience will give you a head start when entering the jobs market.

You will benefit from hearing guest speakers from the digital marketing industry discuss best practice in email, mobile, social media, SEO and digital strategy.

This course is part of our Marketing MSc programme. All students complete the same core modules, then from the end of your first term you can tailor your course with specialisms and option modules.

Information for international students

For non-native speakers of English
In order to benefit from, contribute to and enjoy the course, a good command of spoken and written English language is required. If English is not your first language, you will need English language proficiency equivalent to an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5 and a minimum of 5.5 in the other elements.

International students whose language skills do not match the IELTS scores set out here should consider applying for this course through the Extended Masters programme at the university's Language Institute.
