Course content

The MSc Lean Leadership is specially designed to provide leaders and managers at any level with the expertise to improve and thrive in a turbulent world. We preserve fundamental Lean principles but draw from cutting-edge advancements and thought-leadership – how we bring it together has also evolved.

A learning focus: sustainable change requires an understanding of what drives lasting results and how it applies to your unique situation. We discuss the hard truths, the why and how of Lean, offering a comprehensive view of the learning and application frameworks for success as you lead your team to new heights.
Learn while you improve: we cover practical tools and techniques to understand the work and deal with different levels of problems faced in the workplace. You will learn to frame challenges and assimilate tools, thinking, technology and talent to continuously learn and improve.
Build on scientific thinking: future-fit leaders build capacity for problem solving in everyone, every day. It takes courage to favour learning over results, but herein lies a secret ingredient to superior performance. We focus on understanding problem types and building supported structures for rigorous experimentation as well as flexible, organic learning.
Big picture thinking and doing: no matter the level from where you lead your team, executing strategy daily at the frontline, remains key. We explore the make-up of a great Lean strategy and business model and how it tangibly connects to results on the ground.
Becoming change: characteristics, behaviours and routines of the Lean Leader speak volumes and ultimately create a culture of learning and performance through the ranks. We encourage personal reflection and path correction throughout the course.
