Excellent support facilities for research which is characterised by the application of fundamentals to technological issues. Well-equipped instrumentation, mechanical and electronic workshops. Extensive computing facilities include linked networks of Sun workstations, PCs and Macintoshes. Own library; Scientific Periodicals Library nearby. Very strong links with industry.
