Entry requirements

Applicants for this course should have achieved a UK High II.i Honours Degree or its international equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants with 2-5 years’ work experience. Given the highly competitive nature of our admissions process, we strongly encourage candidates to have at least two years' work experience before applying, however we consider all applications submitted. Applications are considered as they are received, on a rolling basis.

The MPhil in Public Policy provides an interdisciplinary grounding in public policy theory and practice, with courses ranging from philosophy and policy analysis through to media and politics.

The course is aimed at students who wish to have a leading role in government, companies or NGOs. The blend of theory and practice will help students to understand the mix of hard and soft skills they will need to be effective policy entrepreneurs and students will leave the course having broadended and strengthened their policy analysis and implementation skills.

2 written examinations (for Macroeconomics and Political and Legal Institutions).

Other Assessment

1 work placement report, written after the placement is undertaken over Easter 2016.
