Entry requirements

No work experience is required; in fact, as this is a pre-experience programme, applicants should normally have no more than a year of work experience (between graduation and enrolment, excluding vacation employment and internships). The minimum standard required is a First Class Honours or equivalent. This equates to a CGPA of 3.7/4.0.

Course content

The MPhil in Finance is an intensive nine-month programme combining advanced study and research for those with less than one year of work experience.

The MPhil in Finance has been designed in three broad specialisations:

Finance

Financial Accounting

Financial Engineering

Depending on your course choices, you will share some of your classes with other students on the MPhil in Economics, Part III of the Maths Tripos, MPhil in Statistical Science or Master of Finance.

Dissertation Option
It may be possible for students to offer a dissertation in place of three of the courses. This is subject to the approval of the topic by the Degree Committee, and the availability of a supervisor.
