Entry requirements

Have a degree (2:2 or above) or equivalent, in a relevant subject. If you don't meet the criteria please enquire for advice. Evidence of contributing to the facilitation, supervision and assessment of learning. Have access to student/s who are transferring knowledge and competence to new area/s of practice. Demonstrate an ability to study at level 7. Agreement/support with employer organisation. Be registered in the same part/sub part of the register as the students you're assessing. Gained practice qualifications relevant to your field, that is, registered and worked for 2 years, and gained additional qualifications that will support students in practice.

Course content

This course aims to prepare and develop practitioners who will be able to facilitate, supervise and assess students transferring knowledge and competence to a new context of practice. In addition to this, the course will provide the opportunity for you to critically appraise and evaluate practice teaching from operational and strategic perspectives.

The course is designed to encompass key themes including establishing effective working relationships, creating and maintaining a learning environment, facilitating learning and assessment and evaluating learning by utilising evidence-based practice and leadership strategies within the context of contemporary practice. The course is available for practitioners working in Health and Social Care environments who wish to enhance their knowledge in order to ensure evidence based practice.
