Course content

As a dominant force in the global economy, the region also contains some of the world’s most pressing security issues. This course introduces students to a wide range of materials on the society, economy, politics and international relations of the region. It is founded in the development of critical analysis of these materials. This course is taught by staff from across UCLan’s Asia Pacific Studies team, including from the International Institute of Korean Studies, which works within a global network of influential academics, diplomats, journalists and public policy officials who work on countries around the Asia Pacific.

The MA Asia Pacific Studies programme, provides you with the opportunity to work for the UN organisations as an intern.We also provide various activities which can develop the skills required for career development as a junior expert in Asia Pacific Studies. During your studies as MA Asia Pacific Studies student, you can take basic, intermediate and advanced language classes in Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
